Recipe: Oven Roasted Fish with Spring Onion and Ginger Sauce

Use a whole sea bass, bream or red snapper for this recipe, the freshest you can find! Simple to prepare and full of subtle ginger and spring onion flavours. Serve with hot Jasmine rice.


1 whole sea bass, bream or red snapper (de-scaled and cleaned)
2 tbsp Wing Yip Light Soya Sauce
1 tsp Wing Yip Sesame Oil
1 tbsp shredded ginger (use fresh ginger)
1/2 jar Wing Yip Ginger & Spring Onion Sauce
1 spring onion (shredded and soaked in iced water)
1 tbsp peanut oil

Cooking Method

Serves 2

Line baking dish with foil and lightly oil.

Cut 2/3 slits on each side of the fish and rub shredded ginger into slits and belly of fish. Drizzle with sesame oil and light soya sauce and bake in a hot oven until fish is cooked (10-15 minutes).

In a small pan heat Wing Yip Ginger and Spring Onion Sauce until it boils. Add 1/2 jar of water and continue cooking for approximately 3 minutes.

When the fish is done transfer it from baking tray to a warm platter and drizzle with the hot sauce.

Dry spring onion on kitchen paper and place on fish to garnish.
