Young Chef of the Year competition is back for 2015
Wing Yip's Oriental Cookery Young Chef of the Year competition offers the nation's best up and coming culinary talent the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a panel of renowned judges plus the chance to win an unforgettable trip to Hong Kong.
To be in with a chance of winning, young chefs aged between 18 and 25, working or training in the catering and hospitality industry, must design and submit an Oriental inspired menu by 14th January 2015. The most mouth watering menus will be short-listed and successful applicants will be invited to a competition cook-off at University College Birmingham on 16th February 2015.
The judges putting the contestants through their paces will include Michelin star chef Glynn Purnell, Peter Griffiths, head judge and President of the British Culinary Federation, and finalist on BBC's Masterchef, Larkin Cen.
Marks will be awarded for technique, creativity, presentation and most importantly, the use of authentic Oriental ingredients and cooking styles.
